Regional Chapters
Since 1990, local chapters of the League have been bringing aviation history enthusiasts together in their own communities. If you’ve ever wanted to connect with fellow members, share your interests, or simply enjoy good company while learning more about WWI aviation, a regional chapter is the perfect place to start. With groups meeting across the U.S., you’re sure to find one that feels like home.
Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter
The Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter invites members to gather for quarterly meetings held at various locations throughout the Metroplex. Past venues have included the Frontiers of Flight Museum near Love Field, the University of Texas at Dallas, Kip Aero, and the Cavanaugh Museum at Addison Airport.
Meetings are typically held on Saturday mornings and often wrap up with lunch at a nearby restaurant—perfect for continuing the conversation. The atmosphere is friendly and informal, but members who would like to present a topic are encouraged to share a title, brief summary, and time estimate in advance so it can be added to the agenda. Meeting spaces are equipped with large screens or projection systems to make sharing presentations easy and engaging.
To learn more or be added to the mailing list, please reach out to Randy Zimmerman via email at 948cg@att.net or by phone at 972-212-4811.
Military Heritage Chapter
Meeting quarterly in central Ohio—most often in Dayton—the Military Heritage Chapter brings together aviation historians from Toledo, Cincinnati, Columbus, and Dayton. Known informally as the “Dayton Chapter,” this group was formed to celebrate and study WWI aviation in the very city that gave flight its wings: the birthplace of aviation itself.
With a dedicated membership and a welcoming spirit, the chapter continues to grow. To keep up with meetings and connect with members, visit their Facebook page.
